Instructions

  1. Sterilize five pint jars and simmer the lids in a small saucepan.
  2. Wash and trim the green beans; cut them in half if necessary.
  3. In a large saucepan, combine vinegar, water, and pickling salt. Bring to a boil.
  4. Pack the beans into jars with garlic, dill seeds, and red chile flakes.
  5. Pour hot brine over the beans, leaving 1/2 inch headspace. Remove air bubbles with a chopstick.
  6. Wipe jar rims clean, secure lids, and process in boiling water bath for 10 minutes.
