  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon chili flakes (optional)
  • 1 can full-fat coconut milk
  • 1 can crushed tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat coconut oil in a heavy-bottomed pot over medium heat. Add diced onion and sauté until translucent.
  2. Stir in minced garlic and grated ginger; cook for one minute until fragrant.
  3. Add curry powder, ground cumin, turmeric, cinnamon, and optional chili flakes. Cook for about 30 seconds to bloom the spices.
  4. Brown the beef chunks on all sides for approximately 5-7 minutes.
  5. Pour in coconut milk, crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, brown sugar, lime juice, salt, and pepper; mix well.
