  • 6 oz cream cheese, softened
  • ⅓ cup light brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1 ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 4 ½ cups powdered sugar
  • 1 tbsp heavy cream
  • ⅓ cup finely chopped pecan halves, optional

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease three 8-inch round cake pans.
  2. Melt unsalted butter in a saucepan until golden brown; cool.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together cake flour, sugars, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  4. Mix cooled browned butter into dry ingredients until combined.
