  • 1 pound ground beef sausage
  • 4 ½ cups milk
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • ½ cup flour
  • 2 cans refrigerator biscuits or homemade drop biscuit dough
  • ¾ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and spray a baking dish with cooking spray.
  2. Brown ground beef sausage in a skillet over medium heat; transfer to baking dish.
  3. In the same pot, melt butter, stir in flour and spices to form a roux; cook until slightly browned.
  4. Gradually whisk in milk until smooth; cook until thickened.
  5. Pour gravy over sausage in the baking dish.
  6. Cut biscuits into fourths and distribute over gravy evenly.
  7. Bake for 25–30 minutes until biscuits are golden brown.
