- 1 pound ground beef sausage
- 4 ½ cups milk
- 3 tablespoons butter
- ½ cup flour
- 2 cans refrigerator biscuits or homemade drop biscuit dough
- ¾ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
- Preheat oven to 350°F and spray a baking dish with cooking spray.
- Brown ground beef sausage in a skillet over medium heat; transfer to baking dish.
- In the same pot, melt butter, stir in flour and spices to form a roux; cook until slightly browned.
- Gradually whisk in milk until smooth; cook until thickened.
- Pour gravy over sausage in the baking dish.
- Cut biscuits into fourths and distribute over gravy evenly.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes until biscuits are golden brown.
